
Indus is a hybrid of the musical landscape from the Caribbean coast of Colombia and the global club culture. Their live show is an energetic discharge of acid analog synthesizers and afro-colombian vocals and percussion. The duo is formed by the producer Oscar Alford and percussionist Franklin Tejedor from San Basilio de palenque. Oscar has worked in studio with renowned acts such as Sidestepper, Ghetto Kumbe, Montoya, Nidia Gongora amongst others. Franklin, also known as “lamparita” is one of the most renowned palenque Tamboreros from his generation, carrying the tradition of his musical family.
Indus has released music since 2020 independently and under labels like ZZK Records and Palenque Records. Their work includes 2 albums, several singles including collaborations with some of the most renowned traditional Colombian musicians such as traditional folk singers Nelda Piña on “Alfa Indi”, Hermes Romero on the song “Noche Oscura” and San Basilio de Palenque’s iconic bands such Las Alegres Ambulancias , Sexteto Tabala and Son Palenque on their remixes Eps.
The band has consolidated a sound that portrays afro-colombian traditional rhythms, Carnaval de barranquilla sounds and Picko culture in a nocturne club ambience, The band has toured internationally 3 times (Canada 2023, Europe 2024 y Canada 2024) with highlighted performances in Mutek (Montreal – 2023), Nuits Sonores (Lyon – 2024) , Fusion Festival (Berlin – 2024) and Virada Cultural (São Paulo – Brasil 2025). Indus has also been part of some of Colombia’s most important musical events such as Festival Colombia al Parque (Bogota) Festival Centro (Bogota), and Festival Tambor Galactico (Santa Marta).
Indus’ music has been awarded several times by Colombian government and reviewed by international press such as Sounds and Colors (UK), South Plug (CL), Gladys Palmera (ESP), Marvin in Magazine (MEX), Filter (MX), Shock Magazine (COL), Notizie (ITA) and Radiónica (COL) amongst others.
