LINA_ and Marco Mezquida present O Fado, their musical adventure, the result of an intense, creative and passionate dialog. A piece that offers a new and distinctive framework for this music. The meeting between the multi-award-winning Portuguese artist and the Spanish composer/pianist was a natural one, the result of mutual admiration. Both artists realized that once in a while these encounters give rise to something that exceeds the sum of the parts, something that neither would be able to achieve on their own.
After demonstrating their overwhelming, intense play on the EP O Fado, released in March of 2025, the duo will come together again for the release of an album with the same title on September 26, 2025, published by Galileo Music.
In live performances, LINA_ ‘s splendid voice combines with the beautiful simplicity and vulnerability of Marco’s brilliantly played keys, and the result is a truly unforgettable concert.
“Marco,” LINA_ explains, “brought a great lightness to my music. The piano is a very complete instrument, with which I’ve always had close contact, but with Marco there’s something different. It’s like the piano is an extension of his body. And the way he approaches it makes me float”. LINA_ ’s voice, which has been the subject of much praise in the national and international press, is in fact a rich instrument in its own right, which gains from these close dialogues with other instruments with strong personalities. And, as those who have seen and heard her on stage know, she likes to fly.
LINA_ stept to the forefront through her collaboration with Catalan producer Raul Refree, a stunning and innovative fado project. The Portuguese poet Luis Vaz de Camões was the main inspiration for Fado Camões, an album with another new fado sound. Marco Mezquida is recognized as one of the great piano players from Spain, standing out for his versatility and improvisation skills. He worked with artists like Chicuelo and Celeste Alias.
