El Mágico Baobab is an authentic Colombian soundsystem, known as a ‘picó.’ After years of research and building connections, El Mágico Baobab began to take shape towards the end of 2022. Picó sound systems can be experienced in Caribbean coastal cities such as Barranquilla, Cartagena, and Santa Marta. These picó soundsystems bring vibrancy to the streets and contribute to the rich culture of these cities. The hand-painted fluorescent designs on these massive sound systems are unique to this region. As of the beginning of 2023, this original, handmade soundsystem has made its way to Europe.
What sets El Mágico Baobab apart is our collaboration with renowned artist William Guitterez Peñaloza, who is considered a master in this style. We proudly showcase his original artwork. Prepare to immerse yourself in a diverse range of tropical sounds, from salsa to cumbia, champeta to highlife.
