“Uzi Freyja” is pronounced like a statement of intent, combining the rapid flow of a weapon (Uzi) with the Nordic goddess of love, war, fertility, and sex (Freyja).

Free of codes and determined, talented and intrepid, Uzi Freyja exists fast and strong.

Winner of the 2023 Chorus Prize from Hauts-de-Seine she has always taken the stage with fiery intensity. In just two years, she has performed in many French and European festivals (Dour, Francofolies, Vieilles Charrues, Rock en Seine, Eurosonic, Mama Festival, Reperbahn). She excites the crowds by blending hip-hop vocals, punk fury, and experimental electronic structures. Her extraordinary charisma is one of the striking features of her music: Uzi Freyja appears confident and undeniably powerful.

Constantly reinventing herself, for her first album, Uzi Freyja takes the approach of telling her own story. in both English and French, she speaks to Bhelize, her inner child, whom she guides through her initiatory journey full of emotions.

This debut album is also an opportunity for her to emancipate herself and recreate an artistic family in her own image. She signs with a new label, pursues her desire to further explore sounds, and collaborates with a new team in the studio and for the art direction. She self-produced her first album, with the support of Juxe at Krumpp, demonstrating the fascinating evolution and maturity of the sound she brings to life.

Among her new collaborators in writing and vocals are Yoa, Baby Volcano and Béatrice Dalle. In terms of composition, the team is as eclectic as it is bold, reflecting the artist: Juxe (composer for Nekfeu, Georgio, Coelho), Carbon Killer (a figure in the cyberpunk/post-rock scene), Labo Klandestin (Soso Maness, Zamdane, Lakna), Hook & GR! (Muthoni Drummer Queen), Vapa.

Her many influences (between rap and pop music in the widest sense) are reminiscent of Princess Nokia, Little Simz, Leikeli47, and City Morgue.

With Bhelize don’t Cry, Uzi Freyja succeeds in summoning to the studio the energy and rage she unleashes on stage, offering a collection of tracks like self-portraits: complex, surprising, and empowering.

Bhelize Don’t Cry, first album to be released on January 31st, 2025, under the label Fougue.
