SINSUKE FUJIEDA GROUP is a forward-looking jazz ensemble based in Tokyo, led by saxophonist and composer Sinsuke Fujieda. Known for its deeply emotive melodies and dynamic, groove-driven interplay, the group fuses modal and spiritual jazz with classical, world, and East Asian musical influences.
Their sound is often described as a “new classic” of Japanese spiritual jazz-organic yet structured, spiritual yet grounded. It evokes the line age o f1970s modal jazz, while embracing contemporary ensemble sensibilities.
The band’s latest LPFUKUSHIMA, released in April 2025 via the iconic Paris-based label Superfly Records, debuted at #1 on Juno Records’ Jazzchart. The album has garnered widespread acclaim from international listeners and DJs alike, with Dusty Groove (Chicago) describing it as “spiritual and worldly jazz… deeply immersive.
“Fujieda is also the founder of SoFaRecords, an independent label with a catalogue of over 15 releases, which has steadily built a following both in Japan and Europe.
In July 2025, the group will appear at Fuji Rock Festival as the final act at the Crystal Palace tent-a major recognition in the Japanese music scene.
Building on this momentum, SINSUKE FUJIEDA GROUP is actively seeking international performance opportunities, particularly in Europe.
